Absence Reporting

Belmont Hill will use SchoolPass to manage absences, late arrivals, early dismissals, and dismissal changes of students. Parents and guardians can make attendance and dismissal changes for their students with the click of a button without needing to call the school.  Please see below for instructions.

  • Students are encouraged to email their teachers for assignments, but a parent or guardian must notify the school via SchoolPass, as outlined, to report absences, late arrivals, early dismissals, and dismissal changes of students.

  • Middle school parents, please note that 4:00-4:45pm is a required part of the school day on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.  While we realize that it may be challenging to schedule medical and dental appointments, we ask that routine ones be planned in advance in conjunction with the school calendar to minimize conflict with school days.

  • In the event of a foreseeable need for a student to miss school, parents/guardians should communicate with the appropriate Division Head.  An excused absence may be granted for important family events or student opportunities. Any absences without approval from the School will be considered unexcused. In addition, absences for extended family vacations or without a valid reason will be considered unexcused. A student that misses 25% of school days during the year might not receive academic credit for that year.  For Upper/High School please contact Don Bradley bradleyd@belmonthill.org, for Lower/Middle School Tim Sullivan tsullivan@belmonthill.org.

  • Boys cannot be released early for outside athletic commitments.

Please follow the steps below to access SchoolPass on your device:

  • Download the SchoolPass app on your mobile device. Note that the application for parents is called "SchoolPass". Not "SchoolPass Attendance".
  • Please log in using the credentials provided in the SchoolPass email to access your student's account.
  • When you log in, you will be brought to your home page, where you can see your student. Please use the "+" sign to make attendance and dismissal changes for your student. Your student's teachers and the Health Office will be notified of all changes.
  • To help ensure your SchoolPass experience is successful, please ensure your phone is running the latest operating system. Please download the latest SchoolPass app from your phone App Store.
  • For any help with your SchoolPass, please get in touch with schoolpass@belmonthill.org.

Form III Interdisciplinary Day Blends History and Science

On April 13, Form III students participated in the annual Interdisciplinary Day where combined programming from the History and Science Departments created an opportunity for more focused learning and collaboration. Spearheaded by faculty members from both departments, the day’s workshops dug into issues related to sustainability, their historical contexts, and the global impacts felt as a result.

Scotty Moreau Leaves a Lasting Mark on Belmont Hill

Senior Scotty Moreau completed a tremendous wrestling campaign this winter, capturing the ISL title at his weight class (132 lbs.) and earning All League and All New England Honorable Mention distinctions. While these feats are in line with Belmont Hill’s tradition of wrestling excellence, Scotty’s performance is made all the more remarkable by the life changing event that occurred merely two seasons prior.

New Coaches to Lead Football and Soccer Programs

After a pair of comprehensive national searches, Belmont Hill has appointed Frank Roche as the new Head Varsity Football Coach and Craig Schneider as the new Head Varsity Soccer Coach. While their first seasons won’t begin in earnest until August, both coaches have already started the off-season work of meeting their student-athletes and setting the teams up for success in the upcoming year.

Chapel Talk Speaks to the School’s Power to Change

As the community gathered again upon returning from spring break, Greg Schneider, Ronald M. Druker ’62 Head of School, had his eyes on the approaching season of change. Sixth Formers have begun their final marking period together and prospective students will be arriving on campus in the coming week as part of the School’s “Revisit Days.” In his morning Chapel Talk, Mr. Schneider used the moment of impending transitions to reflect on the ways Belmont Hill has changed him over the years, and he challenged the boys to do the same.
