  • Ishaan Prasad ’18 Named Coca-Cola Scholar

    Chosen from an applicant pool of more than 90,000 high school seniors, Ishaan Prasad ’18 is one of only 150 students to be named a Coca-Cola Scholar. Created in 1988, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation’s mission is to “invest in exceptional high school students who are dedicated to leadership, service, and action that positively affects others.” The award includes a $20,000 scholarship and travel to Atlanta for an all-expenses paid “Scholars Leadership Development Weekend.” In addition, Ishaan will be joining an enthusiastic, close-knit alumni network of nearly 6,000 Coca-Cola Scholars from the program’s 30-year history.

    Following the 2016 election, John Markis ’18, recognized the importance of citizen engagement to the health of a vital democracy. Inspired by President Obama’s final speech in which he stated, “If you’re disappointed by your elected officials, grab a clipboard, get some signatures, and run for office yourself." John did just that.
