Varsity Tennis
The Program
Belmont Hill has captured 17 ISL titles, including two recent league championships in 2010 and 2016. Since the 2008 season, the team has finished outside the top-4 ISL standings only once, and has qualified for the New England postseason tournament every year, including runner-up finishes in 2008, 2016, and 2022.
The Philosophy
Coach Speer will begin his tenure as varsity head coach for the spring 2023 season. He is looking forward to building on the momentum of the last few years, while sustaining the team's principles of character, strong work ethic, and sportsmanship.
The Players
Belmont Hill's players routinely receive All-ISL honors as well as academic recognition. Recent landing spots for graduating seniors include Colgate, Tufts, Williams, Middlebury, Colby, and Hamilton.

Meet the Coaches

Head Coach
Mr. Speer teaches AP Calculus AB and Precalculus Advanced, in addition to coaching varsity tennis and thirds squash. Before coming to Belmont Hill, he taught and coached at Cranbrook (MI) School, Deerfield Academy, and Phillips Academy Andover. His teams have regularly competed for New England and league championships, and several of his players have gone on to compete at the Division 1 and Division 3 level.
