About our Featured Speaker: Kit Hughes '97
Kit Hughes ‘97 is the Vice President & Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. He previously served for eight years at Bowling Green State University in Ohio, leaving in 2022 as deputy athletic director. Kit was a member of the administration and football staffs at North Carolina State University and Boston College for the 11 years prior. He has extensive experience in all aspects of collegiate athletics, and now oversees a Division I program at Holy Cross with 27 sports and over 700 student-athletes. He is a member of the NCAA's Football Championship Subdivision national selection committee, and has served as a board member for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Central Mass & Metrowest since 2023. Mr. Hughes earned his bachelor's degree in sociology in 2001 from Bowdoin College and his master's degree in higher education from Boston College in 2006. He was a four-year letterman in lacrosse at Bowdoin and led his team to the ECAC Championship in 2001. He graduated from Belmont Hill in 1997 where he was an honors student, a three-sport varsity athlete (he played varsity football, varsity hockey, and captained the varsity lacrosse team) and was a two-time recipient of the Edmund Burt Community Service Award.
