Belmont Hill participates in the Drones in Schools competition for Upper School students.
Belmont Hill participates in the Drones in Schools competition for Upper School students. Founded through a student initiative in Winter 2022, BH Drones took the competition by storm, winning the National Championships in their first year. Since then, BH Drones has expanded to include a Middle School and Upper School Club, and a mixed Competition Team.
In the 2022 - 2023 competition season, BH Drones took home the HS Divison “Design and Engineering” Award, as well as second place for the Capture the Flag and Head to Head Race divisions, missing out by 3/10ths of a second in a sudden death double elimination race in the finals. In the end, BH Drones took home 3rd overall, and is excited to see what the 2023-2024 season brings!
Throughout the academic year, BH Drones meets during X, Y and Z blocks in the Bolles Makerspace under the supervision of Mr Ziff. Students will have the option of joining the BH Drones Club or trying out for the Competition Team, which competes monthly.
