Mr. Coppedge '94 joined the Belmont Hill faculty in 2016 as senior associate director of College Counseling. In addition, Mr. Coppedge works with Form VI on senior projects, is a Form VI advisor coaches Middle School baseball. He comes to Belmont Hill School from Tufts University where he held the position of associate director of enrollment, Undergraduate Admissions. Mr. Coppedge also worked as the director of Graduate Support and Admissions at the Epiphany School where he was also the athletic director. He holds a Master of Education from Harvard University Graduate School of Education and a B.A. in International Relations with a minor in Spanish from Colgate University.

Mr. Doar joined Belmont Hill's faculty in 2013. He teaches English 2, Nonfiction Writing, and Statistical Revolution in Sports. In addition, he coaches Middle School Football and Varsity Golf. He is also the Faculty Sponsor of the Middle School Public Speaking Program.

Mr. Grant is the Dean of Faculty and Assistant Head of School and has been at Belmont Hill since 2001. He teaches History 2, Identity, and European AP History. Mr. Grant also coaches Varsity Baseball.

Jamie Phinney

Belmont Hill welcomes Mrs. Phinney as an associate director of College Counseling. She has extensive independent school experience spanning two decades, which includes serving as associate director of college counseling at Phillips Academy, Andover and as an assistant director of college counseling at Salisbury School. She is a graduate of Deerfield, Harvard University, and Harvard School of Education and has also taught neuroscience. Mrs. Phinney is an Olympian and won a bronze medal in women’s ice hockey in 2006. She was a member of the U.S. Women’s National Ice Hockey team for nearly a decade, and has been head coach of a number of independent school varsity programs in various sports as well as serving as an assistant ice hockey coach at Harvard University. Mrs. Phinney knows our school culture well as the spouse of faculty member Brian Phinney.
