The Sextant

Belmont Hill’s online arts and literature magazine showcases the creative and artistic work of the Upper School focusing on creative writing, the spoken arts, theater, music, photography, painting, sculpture, and woodworking.

It covers the following areas:
  • Films of musical performances and high-level practice to promote audience
  • Writing in printable format also read by student authors
  • Small clips of dramatic production focusing on moments of conflict, dramatic monologue
  • Three-dimensional works filmed on turntable (small sculpture, pottery, box projects
  • Student-directed films
  • Public speaking contest and poetry recitations
  • Students doing voiceovers to explain context of photographs, paintings, three dimensional work
