Student Work Celebrated in Arts Award Chapel

Visual Arts Chair Dan Duarte delivered an inspiring message at this morning's Arts Award Chapel, emphasizing the core principles of artistic expression: "Be Honest, Be Yourself, Take Risks."

In his address, Mr. Duarte praised fellow arts faculty members Mr. Kaplan and Ms. Bradley for their dedication to guiding students' artistic development. He encouraged students to embrace creative exploration and vulnerability as pathways to discovering their talents.

The ceremony culminated in the presentation of First Semester Art Awards, recognizing outstanding student work currently exhibited in the Landau Gallery. The exhibition, showcasing pieces from students in first-semester art courses, will remain open for viewing through February 14.

Mr. Duarte acknowledged the subjective nature of artistic evaluation while encouraging all students to persist in their creative development. "Many artists have faced rejection and criticism," he noted. "What matters most is the resilience to push forward."
