Upper School Production of "This Sceptered Isle" Provides Wonderful Shakespearean Entertainment
The Upper School production of “This Sceptered Isle” provided a wonderfully acted and produced evening of theater. The play was written and directed by Mr. Conway. “While many of Shakespeare's plays share similar themes: loss, grief, magic, and danger, this play remixes source texts from seven of Shakespeare's plays—along with two modern texts—into an original story of a prince who seeks to come to terms with the sudden loss of his father in a storm at sea,” Mr. Conway explained. “Left deserted in a new home, he struggles to realize that he can make a new home among the kind people of this sceptered isle.”
The cast included, Juan Pablo Fernandez del Castillo, TJ Cannistraro, Julian Boutin, Will Achtmeyer, Jack Luehrman, Tommy Folan, Boston Ezedi, James Keefe, and Stephen Agular. Henry Ramanathan ran the lightboard.
