Four Students Selected to Perform at the Senior District Music Festival

Every November, a group of Belmont Hill School musicians audition for the Northeastern District Senior Music Festival. From this audition, judges from the Massachusetts Music Educators Association select musicians to form four all-star ensembles.

This year, three Belmont Hill students were selected to perform in the Senior District Orchestra: Wesley Zhu '25 (violin); Jaiden Lee '26 (cello); and Harry Liu '27 (cello). Zachary Park '28 was selected to perform with the Senior District Chorus. After a challenging week of rehearsals, these boys performed with the ensemble at Lexington High School.

The Senior Festival Orchestra at the January 11, 2025 concert was led by conductor Emily Schaad, and featured Music by Johannes Brahms and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. The Senior Festival Chorus was led by conductor Michele Adams and featured a variety of selections ranging from W. A. Mozart to contemporary Indian-American composer Reena Esmail.

Congratulations to these talented students on a great day of performances on Saturday!
