Students Perform at Senior Festival Concert

Every November, a group of Belmont Hill School musicians audition for the Massachusetts Music Educators' Association - Northeastern District  (MMEA-ND)  Senior Music Festival. From this audition, judges select musicians to form four all-star ensembles.

This year, five Belmont Hill students were chosen to perform in the Senior District Orchestra: Wesley Zhu ‘25 (violin), Ryan Chang-Wu ‘27 (violin), Ernest Lai ‘25 (clarinet), Harry Liu ‘27 (cello), and Jaiden Lee ’26 (cello).

After a challenging week of rehearsals, these boys performed with the ensemble at Lexington High School on January 6, 2024. The Senior Festival Orchestra concert was led by Conductor George Ogata. The energetic performance featured Slavonic Dance in C Major, Op. 46, No. 1 by Antonín Dvoƙák and Polovtsian Dances from “Prince Igor” by Alexander Borodin.

Congratulations to these talented students on a great orchestral performance and we wish them well in their auditions for the All State Orchestra.
