Students Perform at Northeastern District Senior Festival Concert

Every November, a group of Belmont Hill School musicians audition for the Northeastern District Senior Music Festival. From this audition, judges from the Massachusetts Music Educators' Association select musicians to form four all-star ensembles.

This year, Harry Liu '27 was selected to perform in the cello section of the Senior District Orchestra and Zachary Park '28 was selected to perform with the Senior District Chorus. After a challenging week of rehearsals, these boys performed with the ensemble at Arlington High School on January 10.

The Senior Festival Orchestra concert was led by conductor Adrian Slywotzky, and featured music by Ukrainian composer Myroslav Skoryk and American composers Chad Hughes and Aaron Copland. The Senior Festival Chorus was led by conductor Brianne Biastoff and featured an eclectic variety of selections from Asia, Europe, North America, and more.

Congratulations to these talented students on an exhilarating day of performances!
