Senior-Directed Play Laughs in the Face of College Admissions Stress

The College Counseling Department works tirelessly to ensure that Upper School students understand the poise, thoughtfulness, and confidence required to navigate the college admissions process. In the senior-directed performance of “13 Ways to Screw Up a College Interview,” the cast showcased the alternative in a series of unmitigated interview disasters.

Directed by Tommy Folan '25, the production starred Tommy and Jai Somani '26 as two desperate college admissions employees frantically looking to find one worthy student to admit to their university. The Kraft Theater audience then got to relish in the parade of prospects showing off the worst case scenarios for how an interview might go including magic tricks, a reality tv crew, a nap enthusiast and more.

Embodying these outlandish admissions prospects were Will Achtmeyer '26, Boston Ezedi '26, Nicholas Jones '26, PJ Nolan '27, and Adrian Tan '25 (not to mention guest appearances from faculty members Mr. Matt Conway and Mr. Donnell Patterson).

Congratulations to the entire team for a hilarious production! While the looming college process can be a source of stress for many students, this production offered everyone a chance to laugh in the face of that pressure and offer some relief in the knowledge that no matter what happens, there are always worse interviews.
