In March 2017, she was a key figure in the U.S. Women's National Hockey Team's groundbreaking protest against USA Hockey, successfully negotiating for equitable support and conditions for women athletes. "The connectedness, unity, and trust of our group is what allowed us to get through it," she told students about the boycott. USA Hockey agreed to the terms and the team would go on to win gold at the tournament.

Ms. Duggan also delved into a questions about building a winning team and cultivating a good locker room culture, highlighting the critical importance of mutual respect, understanding, and communication. "There's no secret sauce," she explained. "It's about respecting everyone in your group and understanding what each teammate brings to the table."

Key takeaways from her presentation included the significance of:
- Vulnerability and honesty
- Work ethic and commitment
- Respecting teammates' diverse backgrounds and processes

Speaking about leadership, Ms. Duggan shared a personal transformation in her approach. "As a leader, I realized we all have different ways of reaching our end goal," she said. "The ability to learn from and understand your teammates is crucial."

Her message extended beyond athletic performance, challenging students to value relationships and mutual respect in all aspects of life. "The people in your life matter so much," Ms. Duggan stressed. "How you honor and respect each other is critically important."

Varsity hockey players Mikey Sullivan, Jin Lee, and Lindan Verville led the Q&A session, engaging directly with Ms. Duggan about leadership, teamwork, and personal growth. Following the School Meeting, she led and smaller group discussion with students.
