Isaiah Langham '25 Reaches 1,000 Point Milestone

With just over five minutes left in a tightly contested game against Deerfield Academy, Isaiah Langham took a pass just outside the three-point line and drove to the hoop before spinning and hitting a short jumper to tie the game. It was not the most spectacular play in this remarkable young man’s career, but it marked a spectacular accomplishment: his 1,000th career point.

“The feeling was surreal,” Isaiah said. “Both of my parents and my little brother being able to witness me accomplish something I’ve been talking about since I was a little kid was amazing.  I set that goal for myself the day I made the team freshman year. I had an exciting start to my career as our team made it to the Class A final against Hotchkiss. Sadly, I was sidelined during our playoff run because I had finger surgery. This year, after being named the captain, I’ve been filled with happiness, bonding with my teammates, and competing at a high level.”

Coach Corey Cofield describes Isaiah as a model Belmont Hill athlete on and off the floor. “He has an innate ability to make those around him better and his competitiveness is infectious amongst his peers. This feat of 1,000 points in his junior year is truly special. Having witnessed his work ethic over the spring, summer, and fall, it comes as no surprise that he has accomplished this so quickly.”

Coach Cofield states that Isaiah can score at all three levels of the game, which makes him an impossible player to defend. “He's added the 3-ball this year too, which further complicates things for other teams on the defensive side.” He adds that Isaiah is one of the few players that he has coached who have the drive and passion for basketball and his approach each day, whether practice or game, is consistent and second to none. “I am very proud of him and all that he has accomplished thus far and look forward to him adding to his point total this year and next.”
