Friday Forums are a cherished Belmont Hill tradition, a chance for the community to come together and make announcements, share messages, at times enjoy music or brief theater performances, and generally revel in the camaraderie that is so much a part of the School.
With the renovation of the Chapel and then the onset of the pandemic in 2020, the community had not gathered for a Forum in quite some time. So there was a special spirit in the air this morning as faculty and students shared announcements--and laughs.
The Forum closed on a more somber note. Ethan O'Neil of Form VI read the moving poem "The Names," by Billy Collins, a reflection on the aftermath of 9/11, whose anniversary is tomorrow. Jack Houser, also of Form VI then led the community in a moment of silence.
All in all, it was another instance of Belmont Hill moving toward a return to the School we all are so very fond of. We look forward to many more Chapel gatherings ahead.
