Coaches Sweeney and Martellini

Coach Martellini and Coach Sweeney are retiring after a combined 68 years of service to Belmont Hill. This year is Coach Sweeney’s 28th year at Belmont Hill. During her career, she has been a stalwart at the boathouse coaching generations of Middle School rowers. When she wasn’t coaching you could find her, and Mr. Sweeney, as spectators cheering on Belmont Hill teams in every sport.

This is Coach Martellini’s 40th year at Belmont Hill. During his tenure, he has coached soccer, basketball, and lacrosse, including 15 years as the Head Varsity Basketball Coach where he amassed 205 wins.

These two beloved teacher coaches have impacted generations of Belmont Hill students and will be greatly missed. It is my great pleasure and honor, on behalf of the Independent School League Council to present both Coach Sweeney and Coach Martellini with plaques that state,

In appreciation of their coaching excellence

And for their contribution to

Independent School Athletics,

The Independent School League Council

presents this certificate to

Ruth Sweeney and Ted Martellini
