Belmont Hill Crew Thrives at Youth Nationals

Belmont Hill crew’s first varsity boat of TZ Snail ‘26, Andrew Gilmore ’27, Tyler Smith ’26, Will Fradette ’27, and coxswain Ryan Ho ’28 traveled to Sarasota, Florida last week to compete in the Youth National Rowing Championships. The group made an immediate statement, placing third overall in the opening time trial of the Men’s Youth 4+ event, and then followed up with a strong second place showing in a very competitive semifinal on Friday. That result propelled Belmont Hill into the A final on Sunday, where they ultimately finished seventh overall, less than three-fourths of a second out of fifth.

The boys did an impressive job managing the heat and demands of racing against the best crews in the nation. The coaches thank all the members of the 2026 Belmont Hill crew team, with special appreciation to Johannes Eikeboom ’27, who joined the team down in Florida. Special thanks as well to the parents who provided incredible support throughout the entire trip.
