Belmont Hill Celebrates 100 Years of the Arts

As Belmont Hill begins what will be a series of celebrations honoring our Centennial, the community gathered on the evening of January 26 for a celebration in Kraft Theater, while on January 27 students and faculty assembled in Chapel, both to commemorate 100 Years of the Arts. These two special events combined student and alumni performances of songs from musicals created at the School 50 years ago by Andy Cadiff ’73. Mr. Cadiff, who was given a warm introduction by longtime friend Bill Achtmeyer ’73, Centennial Celebration Committee Chair, gave an inspirational speech at both events explaining his love of Belmont Hill and how his experience here has shaped his career. The events also featured remarks, short videos, and then the debut of our Centennial song, “Come Celebrate Belmont Hill!” On the way to classes after the Chapel, students were treated to vintage 1923 candy.
