Art and Writing Awards Announced

Scholastic Art & Writing Awards 

Congratulations to this year’s Scholastic Art & Writing Award recipients. In Massachusetts, more than 10,000 submissions were received. The exhibition of gold key art and writing work will be at Breed Hall on the Tufts Medford campus from March 18-25, with an award ceremony for silver and gold key writing recipients on March 18. Gold Key works then advance to national judging.

Writing Awards

• David Cho ‘23 - Honorable Mention for his humor piece "Of Men and Internet Trolls" and his narrative journalism piece "Espressivo: The Timeless Power of Music to Heal Humanity"
• Jake Kornmehl ‘24 - Silver Key for his flash fiction "A Home in Ruin"
• Ezra Lee ‘25 - Gold Key -  expanded projects - “Broken but Healing” and Honorable Mention for his poem "Glass Infested Waters"
• Jaiden Lee ‘26 - Silver Key for his poem "covid is" and Honorable Mention for his poem "las meninas"
• Adrian Tan ‘25 - Gold Key for his short story "The Doctor"

Congratulations to these talented writers. Their award-winning works will be published later this year in school publications. 

Belmont Hill Art Awards

On February 24, 2023, Mr. Duarte, chair of the visual arts department, featured the Scholastic Awards and announced the Student Art Awards in Chapel. A show of student work was exhibited in Landau Gallery in February.
