On Monday, September 27, Belmont Hill held its 30th Annual Henry B. Sawyer, Jr. ’32 Golf Tournament for Financial Aid. The money raised from the tournament helped to complete a fifth endowed scholarship and raised more than $30,000 toward a sixth scholarship.
This is a remarkable tribute to the generous sponsors, golf committee, and participants, all of whom share the goal of making a Belmont Hill education possible to those who might otherwise not be able to afford it. The School is thrilled that the community once again demonstrated the Belmont Hill motto of “Working Together” to give deserving boys the opportunity to attend our school.
The Henry B. Sawyer, Jr. '32 Golf Tournament Scholarship was first established in 2004 by the Tournament Committee. A second scholarship was added in 2005, a third in 2013, and a fourth in 2016. The scholarships are awarded to well-rounded students and three-season athletes who demonstrate the personal integrity, intellectual curiosity, and sportsmanship that Mr. Sawyer embodied each and every day.
