Belmont Hill School educates boys in mind, body, and spirit to develop men of good character.
Our community encourages and challenges students to discover and pursue passions, seek excellence, and face adversity with resilience. We cultivate critical thinking and creativity, teamwork and competition, hard work and reflection, tradition and innovation. Valuing our differences and working together, we embrace camaraderie, compassion, and service to others. From the North:
Take Route 95 South to Exit 29A (Route 2 East). Take Route 2 East to Exit 133 and turn right on Park Ave.
From the South:
Take Route 95 North to Exit 29A (Route 2 East). Take Route 2 East to Exit 133 and turn right on Park Ave.
From Boston and points East:
Take Soldiers Field Road to Route 2 West. Take Exit 133 off of Route 2 and turn left on Park Ave.
From the West:
Take the Massachusetts Turnpike to Route 95 North. Take Exit 29A (Route 2 East). Take Route 2 East to Exit 133 and turn right on Park Ave.
By Bus:
The campus is a short walk from the bus stop at Park Avenue and Route 2.
Belmont Hill School (350 Prospect Street, Belmont, MA) is at the rotary where Park Avenue, Marsh Street, and Prospect Street intersect.
Visitor parking is located in the lot off Marsh Street: take second left beyond the traffic circle, loop around the lower parking lot and proceed to upper parking lot. Please park in the marked visitor spots.
Athletics Game Day Information:
Please remember that if you park on Marsh Street, you must, with the supervision of police on detail, park on the school-side of the road, as close as possible to the woods. There is no parking on Edmunds Way or Evergreen Way. Both of these roads are private ways and police may issue tickets. Also, cars parking on the rotary islands can expect to be ticketed.

STRATEGIC VISION
We are pleased to share Belmont Hill School’s Strategic Plan, published in 2018. With the School’s Centennial fast approaching, the Board of Trustees established task forces to examine nine key areas of school life: academics, the arts, athletics, boarding, diversity, faculty and staff, facilities, financial sustainability, and school size and composition.
Through the effort of all the task forces over the past two years, the trustees and faculty have affirmed that Belmont Hill is a school in good health, with a clear mission, a devoted board, an engaged faculty, and students, alumni, and parents who share a belief in the mission.
East Campus Project
As part of our campus plan for the future of the School, over the course of two decades, Belmont Hill has acquired a number of contiguous properties across the street from the Main Campus. While there is no plan to increase enrollment, over the next five to six years there is a need to provide on-site student parking, offer visitor parking for academic and athletic events, improve the flow of traffic in our upper parking lot off Marsh Street, and replace the existing Facilities Building with a purpose-designed structure.
Belmont Hill prepared an application for Design and Site Plan Review to address these needs for the construction of a new 7,000+/- square foot Facilities Building, the addition of approximately 150 parking spaces across campus in three lots, and changes to the configuration of off-street parking, screening, egress, utilities, drainage, and lighting.
Our School Emblem - Sextant
The sextant is an instrument for determining the angle between the horizon and a celestial body such as the sun, the moon, or a star. It is used in celestial navigation to determine latitude and longitude.
Dr. R. Heber Howe, our founding head of school, explained the significance of the sextant and why it was chosen as our emblem during a speech at the closing exercises of Belmont Hill on Friday, June 6, 1924.
