Hockey and Wrestling Continue Winning Ways1/30/2010 The hockey and wrestling teams continued their winning ways with strong performances at home. On Friday the hockey team hosted a tough squad from Procter Academy. The boys looked a bit sluggish early on, but got things together and put two tallies on the board in the first period with goals from Fadden and Joe McNamara. In the second period Belmont Hill broke the game open with scores from Albert, Vesey, and Caldwell to lead 5-1 at the break. Vesey would score again in the third as the team cruised to a 6-2 win.
On Saturday the wrestling team returned home after a stretch on the road. They opened against St. Sebastian's, winning 72-11 with pins from Geoff Sullivan, Bolte, Bergantino, Travaline, Perdoni, Scari, Ott, Favaloro, and Kohler. Next up was Exeter, and another strong performance led to a 62-6 win with pins coming from Cousins, Ott, Gorelick, Kotchinian, Ogonowsky, Bolte, and Travaline. The sweep was completed with a 64-7 win over Pomfret, with pins from Raftery, Bolte, Alizadeh, and Travaline. The fastest pin of the day came from from Perdoni at 40 seconds.
