The Belmont Hill Sport Camps welcome boys and girls ages 6 to 15, whether experienced or new to the game. We tailor our programs to the ages and skill levels of the participants and group children for instruction, skills development and games according to grade and experience. We emphasize good sportsmanship and cooperative learning throughout. And we, campers and staff both, have fun!
The outstanding facilities used by the camps include well-maintained playing fields and the impressive Jordan Athletic Center. Many of our Sport Camps directors and coaches are members of the Belmont Hill community, including Sport Camps Director, Chris Sweeney. Other staff members come from area high schools and colleges and are well trained in their individual sport.
The Junior Sports Camp is offered for six weeks during the summer (June 28-August 6) and is open to children ages 6-9. Throughout the day, campers participate in a range of activities and sports including whiffleball, soccer, hockey, and basketball. These games take place indoors and outside. Choose as many weeks as you like.
Our boys' and girls' Basketball Camps welcome over 300 campers every year in June and July. Boys' Basketball Director, Ted Martellini, the Varsity Basketball coach at Belmont Hill School, has been with the program for nine years. Both the boys' and girls' camps take place in the Jordan Athletic Center gyms and a small outside court. Boys' Basketball (ages 8-15) will offered July 12-July 16 and July 19-July 23. Girls' Basketball (ages 8-15) will be offered June 28-July 2 and July 5-July 9.
Three weeks of Baseball Camp for ages 8-12, and one week of Advanced Baseball for those 13-15 years old, are offered every summer. Days are spent working on drills, playing games and improving fielding and hitting skills, as well as strategy discussions. Boys should bring their own mitts and bats and be ready for fun, learning, and competition. Baseball Camp will be held June 28-July 2, July 5-9, and July 19-July 23. Advanced Baseball is offered July 12-July 16.
Girls' Softball, for ages 8-15, stresses individual skills such as hitting, fielding, and throwing, as well as team play concepts. The camp also spends time exposing players to pitching, an important skill to learn at a young age. Players of all levels are welcome. The Girls' Softball Camp will meet July 12-July 16.
Lacrosse Camp, with both boys' and girls' weeks, accommodates players of various ages and skill levels. Drills and skills, individual and group instruction, field position, and goalkeeper work are stressed. Campers need not have a great deal of experience, but need to provide their own equipment for the week. Boys' Lacrosse (ages 9-15) will meet July 26- July 30. Girls' Lacrosse (ages 9-15) will meet July 19-July 23.
Belmont Hill Soccer Camp allows for improvement of all levels of play in one of today's most popular sports. Separate weeks for boys and girls allow access to two full-sized fields and an additional indoor practice area. Goalkeeper instruction is available. The Boys' Soccer Camp (ages 8-15) will be offered August 2-August 6. Girls' Soccer (ages 8-15) will be offered July 26-July 30.
High school and junior high school players of all levels are welcome at Belmont Hill's Field Hockey Camp. Led by veteran Director Lynn Walker, daily features include individual and group instruction, position play, and strategy sessions, as well as coached 6 vs. 6 games. The camp, for students ages 10-15, will be held August 2-August 6.
The Wrestling Camp for boys ages 10-14 will introduce campers to many of the skills critical to a successful high school wrestler. Games, videos, live competition and an introduction to proper weight training will complement training and drills. The camp will be offered July 26-July 30. The wrestling camp meets Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM.
The Strength and Conditioning program is designed to assist the young and advanced athlete by addressing the physical needs of their sport while taking into account each athlete's physical maturity. The program uses intensities suited to the level of the athlete and the requirements of their sport. Strength and Conditioning will be offered for seven weeks during the summer, June 21-August 6. Three sessions are offered each day: 9:00-11:00 AM, 11:00 AM-1:00 PM and 2:00-4:00 PM. Participants attend at the same time each day and must sign up for a minimum of three consecutive weeks.
All camps, with the exception of Strength and Conditioning and Wrestling, meet Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM.
